The New Carlisle Public Library offers a rich and varied calendar of adult programming.  Offerings include craft classes, sign language, book discussions, historical programming, and much more!  All programs are FREE!

SUMME READING IS BACK! 

Starting June 1st, our Summer Reading will begin and the theme is Color Our World. We have so many fun things for you all to do, included our BINGO/Beanstack challenge. You have the chance to win a completion prize and be entered to win a grand prize. We will also have our Rewards card back, where you can earn a voucher to Penny Lane! Please see the bottom of the page for the Summer Reading Info Poster. 

 

Our Cozy Reads Book Club Drink Special for June : Penny's Frosted Dreams~ Lemonade, lavender extract, toasted marshmallow syrup, butterfly pea powder & cream or choice of milk. Available June 1st-30th. 
 

There will be a new Card Club meeting at the library June 17th 2-4pm! Anyone is welcome to join, and the game for this month will be Euchre. 

 

BOOK CLUBS

We have book clubs that meet at or through the library. Please check out the following list and dates for these clubs. All books are available by picking up at the library and/or going to the Libby/Hoopla App. 

  • Gentle Reads/Inspirational:  July 14th @6:30pm ~ Come Back To Me by Jody Hedlund. Club meets 2nd Monday of the month.
  • Historical Fiction: July 10th @ 2pm at the Library ~Spirit Crossing by William Kent Krueger. Club meets 2nd Thursday of the month. (May will meet at the Library).
  • Cozy Reads Book Club: July 10th & 17th @ 4:30pm~The Lights of Sugarberry Cove by Heather Webber. This club will be two groups, please sign up for only one night; sign up will be available at the front desk where you can pick up your book. This is a new club through the library that will meet at Penny Lane Art Gallery & Café; genres may vary but will stick to being a cozy, warm, and quick read.
  • Sweet Reads Book Club: June 17th @4:30pm Lavender Blue by Donna Kauffman This book club will be at Penny Lane Art Gallery & Café. July 15th @ 4:30pm~ Beg, Borrow, or Steal by Sarah Adams. 
  • Mystery Book Club: June 24th  @ 4pm ~Open Season by CJ Box. Club meets 4th Tuesday of the month.  

     

We also have an embroidery club that meets the last Monday of the month @6pm. Beginners are welcome and FREE kits are available for those who wish to join. Feel free to bring you own needlepoint, cross-stitch, & embroidery projects. Refreshments will be available at the meeting. You can come when you want and stay as long as you want. The club meets in the adult section starting at 6pm. Upcoming dates: 

  • Our June date differs from the usual meeting, we will have a picnic styled meeting at a lavender farm on June 25th 5-6:30pm (sign up is required). 

     

Yarn Club June 23rd 5:30-7pm: previously titled knitting club. Whether you crochet or knit, come to yarn club and craft with others. Beginners welcome! 

 

Bible Study Group

The Bible Study Group that meets the first Saturday of every month between 10am-12pm, will be doing 12 Daring Women of the Bible studies.
