The New Carlisle Public Library offers a rich and varied calendar of adult programming.  Offerings include craft classes, sign language, book discussions, historical programming, and much more!  All programs are FREE!

NEW!! 

Hamburger Social Saturday August 23rd 12:30-3:30pm (with the Clark Co. Sheriff's Office): Come to the library for a FREE Evan’s hamburger, chips & water while you get to know the Sheriffs who serve our community. This is free for ALL ages! 

Our Cozy Reads Book Club Drink Special for August : Marcellus's Smoothie~ mango & peach smoothie topped with whipped cream. Available August 1-31st. 
 

BOOK CLUBS

We have book clubs that meet at or through the library. Please check out the following list and dates for these clubs. All books are available by picking up at the library and/or going to the Libby/Hoopla App. 

  • Gentle Reads/Inspirational:  September 8th @6:30pm ~ Selah by Lisa Tawn Bergren. Club meets 2nd Monday of the month.
  • Historical Fiction: Sept 11th @ 2pm at the Library ~The Indenture of Ivy O'Neill by Diane Helentjaris *book available only on Hoopla & Libby or by purchase. Club meets 2nd Thursday of the month. (Sept will meet at the Library & the author will be joining us! ).
  • Cozy Reads Book Club: Sept 11th & 18th @ 4:30pm~Death by a Thousand Sips by Gretchen Rue. This club will be two groups, please sign up for only one night; sign up will be available at the front desk where you can pick up your book. This is a new club through the library that will meet at Penny Lane Art Gallery & Café; genres may vary but will stick to being a cozy, warm, and quick read.
  • Sweet Reads Book Club: Sept 16th @ 4:30pm~ Can't Help Falling In Love by Sophie Sullivan This book club will be at Penny Lane Art Gallery & Café
  • Mystery Book Club: August 26th @ 4pm ~The Guilty by David Baldacci. Club meets 4th Tuesday of the month.  

     

We also have an embroidery club that meets the last Monday of the month @6pm. Beginners are welcome and FREE kits are available for those who wish to join. Feel free to bring you own needlepoint, cross-stitch, & embroidery projects. Refreshments will be available at the meeting. You can come when you want and stay as long as you want. The club meets in the adult section starting at 6pm. Upcoming dates: 

Yarn Club September 15th 5:30-6:30pm: previously titled knitting club. Whether you crochet or knit, come to yarn club and craft with others. Beginners welcome! 

 

Bible Study Group

The Bible Study Group that meets the first Saturday of every month between 10am-12pm, will be doing 12 Daring Women of the Bible studies. 

  • Sept.: Bent Woman: We've Got God's Complete Attention (Lisa Harper) * DATE will be different this month, it will be September 13th (second Saturday)
  • Oct.: Woman with the Issue of Blood: When Persistence Pays Off (Chrystal Evans Hurst)
  • Nov.: Elizabeth: How to Win the Waiting Game (Margaret Feinberg)
  • Dec.: Anna: How to Live a Life Devoted to God (Courtney Joseph Fallick)
